Saturday 15th

A great concert evening for the band and everyone who attended although the weather was nasty it did not prevent too many people from turning out.  Included in the programme was Euphonium Soloist  Jess Marshall who played a beautiful rendition of ‘O Holy Night’ other pieces included were ‘Mr Jums’, ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Stop the Cavalry’ and ‘Hey Jude’ a horn trio but, this time with a difference; featuring:-  On Flugel Horn  Norman Horton, Solo Horn Joanne Brookes-Wright, 1st Horns Yvonne Higham and Tom Coxon ,  2nd Horn Kerry Sweet.   Well Done everyone!  Finally massive thanks to Bob Davies on percussion  (You’re a star), our old faithful (meant in the kindest of ways) Steve Sweeting who travelled all the way from Bridlington, you don’t know how much we appreciate your efforts, Gordon Truman and finally  Graham (from Maltby) sorry Graham I don’t know your surname.

With 2018 coming to an end  all is left for DCB  is to remind players that the next rehearsals are in the New Year.  Please try to attend as many of the remaining caroling engagements  i.e. Ensor Masonic – Tuesday 18th,  Wellgate  Masonic – Thursday 20th.  Caroling – Dinnington Tesco – Thursday 20th, Friday 21st,  Sunday 23rd, Monday 24th, with a possibility of  Saturday 22nd at Asda Carcroft 10am -2pm and  last but not least not forgetting Van Dyk’s  Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd  6.30pm – 8pm.
