Sunday 24th November

The band was very proud to play at the Dinnington Miners Memorial  Ceremony held  in Coronation Park at 1pm.  The weather was not the best being cold but  dry for the large crowd of ex miners and their families who attended the event.  There was three unveilings,  a beautiful black granite statue of a coal miner, a pretty flower garden with a plaque commemorating  the working miners who lost their lives and the magnificent wall bearing hundreds of memorial bricks.  The band opened the event with the march ‘Death or Glory’ and during the ceremony followed  ‘Working Man’ and finally the miners hymn ‘Gresford’.
