Under blue skies and sunshine, the annual Proms concert held in the village of Clifton seemed to take on an almost Mediterranean feel in terms of climate, which the band is not necessarily used to playing in! The band enjoyed an excellent evening of playing, featuring a number of our young soloists, including Beth Littlewood playing the horn solo ‘Demelza’, Keira (her younger sister) entertained the audience with her rendition of the lament ‘Aye Walkin’ O’, and our Euphonium player Jack Aitken dazzling the audience with his hot paced rendition of the traditional solo ‘La Belle American’. All of this was topped off with a full ‘Proms finish’ in the light of the setting sun.

A huge thank you to the organisers of the event that, in it’s 14th year, continues to draw record crowds year on year. We hope you can join the band for their next engagement on Saturday 8th July at Harthill Carnival, where we will be leading the parade!
